The Cost of War sign was hosted on City Hall in Binghamton, NY throughout June and July in 2010. The sign was sponsored by Broome County Peace Action as a part of their Cost of War Awareness Project and was approved by Mayor Matt Ryan, a vocal peace activist. The sign received support from many Binghamton residents, including veterans. Sue McAnanama, the coordinator of the project, said, “Our goal has always been to promote a civil dialogue on the subject of war and national priorities, and we welcome and encourage an exchange that is respectful, free of name-calling and honest.”
