Shut Down Indian Point Now!!

Indian Point Energy Center is a three-unit nuclear power plant station in Buchanan, New York. (Sabo/News)
The Indian Point Nuclear Power Energy Center is located between the intersection of two earthquake faults just 24 miles from New York City. Indian Point has the worst safety record of all the nuclear plants in the United States and was named the most dangerous nuclear plant in the country (as reported by MSNBC, based on NRC and U.S. Geologic Survey data). Studies show that New York City cannot be properly evacuated in the case of a serious accident, natural disaster, or terrorist attack on the Indian Point power plants. Indian Point has a documented history of accidental leakage of radioactivity into the environment in violation of federal safety guidelines. Cancer rates are 66% above the U.S. average in the communities surrounding Indian Point according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We MUST shut it down.
Even Governor Cuomo wants to shut Indian Point! Join the new activist group organizing in New York to shut Indian Point NOW!!
