#CeasefireNow Nationwide Grassroots Advocacy Days

Happening now through April 19th, 2024 in Washington, D.C. and online.

This week, Peace Action New York State representatives are traveling to Washington, D.C. for #CeasefireNow Nationwide Grassroots Advocacy Days. More than 600 peace activists from 50+ organizations and 35 states will be on Capitol Hill and in meetings around the country with members of Congress working to turn the tide on U.S. support for Israel's war in Gaza. We will be meeting with our elected representatives from New York to urge them to support an immediate, permanent ceasefire in Gaza; to prevent the conflict from becoming a wider regional war; to oppose further military aid and offensive weapons shipments to Israel; to require the State Department to provide a human rights report on Israel’s campaign in Gaza; and to remove the ban UNRWA aid.

In the aftermath of Iran's recent retaliatory strike on Israel, these advocacy days will be a crucial opportunity to urge restraint to stop this latest attack from spiraling into a larger regional war. They will also be an important opportunity to remind our elected representatives that their constituents want a ceasefire — not continued U.S. support for the brutal war in Gaza.

To amplify our efforts as we meet with members of Congress, we are urging all of our Peace Action New York State members to call your Representative (Capitol switchboard: 202-224-3121) and urge them to do the following:

1) Support an Immediate, permanent ceasefire in Gaza!
2) Vote NO on any military assistance to Israel as it continues to violate international humanitarian law.
3) Stop weapons shipments to Israel.
4) Remove the ban on UNRWA aid.

Our New York peace network is strong, and we need to make our elected representatives hear from us:

New Yorkers demand a CEASEFIRE NOW!

Thank you in advance for joining and amplifying our call for a #CeasefireNow!
